BIO

Yaron Herman is a world class pianist and composer and is widely regarded as one of the leading musicians of his generation.

Despite his young age he has toured every continent, presided over the jury of the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition, headlined television broadcasts in 39 different countries, collected numerous awards including the Victoires du Jazz, iTunes Choice Award, New Talents Trophy, Adami Jazz Talent, Choc Jazzman, Disque d’émoi Jazz and was the first ever jazz pianist to play in the ‘Forbidden City’ in Beijing.

With a background of the European concert hall music tradition, a stint at Berklee College School of Music and his current presence in the global music scene, Yaron has developed an unparalleled style of ’real time composition‘ and a wild improvisational flare culminating in a rare music form which is playful, cinematic and stunning. With every new project he is taking a further step forward onto another level of shaping his identity within the world of music.

Yaron’s new quartet album features Maria Grand & Alexandra Grimal on sax, Ziv Ravitz on drums and Haggai Cohen- Milo on bass. Commenting on the new release, Yaron says: “while composing this album I pushed my own boundaries and attempted to create space to enable every member of the quartet to thrive. We’re taking listeners on an emotional voyage while respecting traditional as well as modern influences.
